SERTOMA, which stands for SERvice TO MAnkind, is an international volunteer service organization that was founded in 1912. Our Round Rock Sertoma Club is currently celebrating 35 years of assisting children in our community who are hearing and speech impaired, as well as helping with other charitable needs. Our members have a sincere commitment to improving our community through service.
Our focus is "A charity that serves so KIDS CAN HEAR!" Among the things we have done are sponsoring cochlear implants, ear surgeries, hearing aids and testing for children, as well as donating a computerized white board to the Texas School for the Deaf that highly impacts the ability of deaf students to learn.
We are currently working to raise money to purchase audiometers so certified Sertoma members can screen children for hearing loss.
Our Club also supports Blue Santa, Brown Santa through funds raised at our annual Casino Night, and this year the UT Speech and Hearing Center will also be a benefactor of this event.
We have several fundraising events throughout the year and our major project is selling Christmas trees, which begins the day after Thanksgiving. This will be our 27th year of providing beautiful holiday trees.
Our members are dedicated to helping kids hear, we have fun working on projects and socializing, and our motto is Together we are Better.
Organization Profile
The Round Rock Sertoma Club was founded on 17 November 1975 and currently has 72 active, participating members who are men and women, working and retired, from the general Round Rock population.
Our Club meets every week on Tuesday mornings.
Time: 6:45AM to 7:30AM (doughnuts and coffee served)
